If you use a Swift and a Ball Winder -- this is a tool you don't want to be without!
Version 2 (October 2007)
The Yarn Tensioner eliminates the need to hold the yarn by guiding the yarn coming off of the swift in addition to applying tension which controls how tight your yarn ball will be wound.
Both ends of the tensioner include stainless steel yarn guide loops which give the user the option to load from a swift or other yarn source which is located at any angle or height as compared to the tensioner.
The user can experiment any way that they like in twisting their yarn through the maze. Or, they can run it straight through the center and use it simply as a guide. Because of our unique crossbar design, you can mount the tensioner in any orientation and the yarn will remain in the tensioner and not fall out!
Clamps to a table surface with a heavy duty 1.75" clamping system.
Measures 6" x 2" x 3" high.
In Version 1, both ends of the tensioner included stainless steel crossbars which gave the user the option to load from a swift or other yarn source which was located higher than the tensioner.
Version 1 was replaced by the current Version 2 Tensioner in October 2007. Version 2 allows the user to remove the yarn without either having to complete the job or breaking the yarn. It does this by means of Yarn Guide Loops at either end of the Tensioner.
Both designs work great but Version 2 provides more flexibility.
